Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

Assessment for this qualification includes underpinning knowledge questions, work-based projects.

Pre- requisite requirements
Pre-requisite academic requirement for this course is that the student must
have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions) or have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
Qualification Packaging Rules
This qualification has total 10 Units of Competency
Core units of competency: 5 plus
Elective units of competency 5, of which:
- 3 elective units of competency must be selected from those listed in the qualification descriptor.
- 2 elective units of competency may be selected from elective units of competency listed in the qualification descriptor of BSB Business Services Training Package, or from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course at Advanced Diploma level.
Elective units of competency must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

- Seeking to enter a new industry sector
- Seeking a pathway to higher-level qualifications.
Characteristics of the target group are as follows:
Students will have study experience as they will have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions). Credit and/or RPL can also be provided for those with existing skills and knowledge in addition to the entry requirements allowing such students to complete the course in a shorter timeframe.
Students will be from a range of countries and may be living in Australia for the first time or may have been here in the recent or more distant past.
Many will speak English as a second language, although an entry level has been set to ensure students are able to complete course work.
Students are expected to typically fall into the age range of 18 – 35 as people still establishing or changing careers.
The list of units of competency have been selected by ACC as being an appropriate combination that can provide valid, reliable, fair and flexible assessment and is deemed suitable for industry required outcomes.

Course credit
Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning). The granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Students who have completed units of study from nationally recognised courses can apply for Credit Transfer. Those who have existing knowledge from practical experience can apply for RPL. To check eligibility, please discuss with Australian Careers College prior to enrolment.
